They thought of everything when building these comfortable, unique and luxurious mini-chalets. We stayed in the tipi with our baby. Beautiful view of the river no matter where you were in the tipi. Lovely experience. Important thing to note, if you want to take the first ferry of the day off the island, you need to put your car in the line at the pier the evening before.
Michelle and Eric are the nicest, friendliest and most accommodating hosts ever! We missed a ferry back to Montmagny and they provided us with an opportunity to experience some glamping in the L'Isle-aux-Grues “wilderness”. We stayed in the Yurt #1, but both their yurts are fully equipped for longer stays, very comfortable and include toilets, whereas larger washrooms with showers are just nearby. Their cafe provides tasty meals for reasonable prices and a wide variety of local cheeses. You also must try Eric’s smoked sturgeon and do not forget to ask him about Bugs Bunny! Thank you, Michelle and Eric, for our most memorable day on the island!
The owners are so nice. On Friday June 2nd, the boat couldn't go back to Montmagny because of very bad winds ( 48 knots 90km/h ). We all "had to" sleep on the island. 4 persons had slept in a tent the night before but it was imposible on Friday night because of the wind storm. The owners of "Maisons du grand heron bleu" offered to these persons to sleep for free in their host houses. Thanks guys, this was really nice of you. And your electric bikes are just very useful and wonderfuls !
It is a traditional unique experience/concept, with outdoor camp fire and a small bbq. The things we did not enjoy were the toilet in "open concept" inside the yourte, the spider cobs at the entrances showing the space was not well maintained, the high price as for a 4 star hotel for a 2 star room in a yourte, especially we were asked to leave the room as found, like noone would come to clean. When it rains, the noise made on the outside surface is extremely loud, you feel like a tornado hits you every few minutes. We hardly slept for 2-3 hours in the 2 nights.
Amazing! We rented the house on the Chemin de la Haute Ville for a week. It's very well furnished, ideally situated, very clean, roomy, and the owner was super friendly and responsive to all our requests. Definitely recommend.
Location was beautiful, staff was very nice to us, providing awesome services and great food menus. However the room was very small, without A/C and refrigerator. The manager did offer to store our food/beverages in the restaurant's fridge, so it was'nt such a big deal. Overall our stay was very nice, people were warm and welcoming. Would definitely go back!
Superbe journée entre frères et fils sur cette île mythique à notre passion. Nous y avons rencontrés des personnes hyper accueillante. Venant de Montmagny en avion et réceptionner par le taxi du village pour une visite locale de l'île. Le top.
Super endroit pour profiter de la nature. Les yourtes sont très mignonnes et accueillantes. Nous avons été ici 5 jours et nous avons toujours été bien. Un grand plus pour le restaurant et son vaste menu!
